5 Things: A Busy Friday in Concord

Here's what's going on in the city today.

  1. Another sunny day. Weather forecasters are calling for mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 70s. Overnight lows will drop down into the high 30s.
  2. Community supper. The Grace Episcopal Church hosts its monthly community supper at 5 p.m. This month, it’s chicken potpie with cranberry/bean salad and pudding. The dinner is free but donations will be accepted for the Take-A-Tote Ministry, which helps feed Concord schoolchildren.
  3. Fun family time. The Concord Family YMCA hosts its Fun Family Friday block party at 5:15 p.m. There will be carnival games, a bouncy house, and lots of fun. And it’s free!
  4. Fitness month and film. National Geographic’s “The Appalachian Trail” plays at 7 p.m. at Red River Theatres. Tickets are $12.
  5. Other stuff. The second annual Restaurant Week in New Hampshire begins today. The Kiwanis Fair runs from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Everett Arena. Cathie Pelletier, author of will be at Gibson’s Bookstore at 7 p.m. St. Paul’s School Ballet Company presents its spring performances at 7:30 p.m. The Matthew Stubbs Band plays The Purple Pit.
