5 Things: Art, an Author, More Art, and Fun, All in Concord
It's going to be a busy night tonight.

"Five Things” is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance about Concord, N.H.
- Is it going to be cold today? Maybe. Forecasters are calling for mostly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-30s. Overnight lows will drop down into the teens and with the wind, with highs gusting up to 25 mph, the wind chill factor will be near zero.
- Art reception. Concord School District art is on display at the Steeplegate Mall through the end of the month. However, the opening reception for the exhibition is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. CHS musicians will be playing and light refreshments will be offered.
- Art auction. Intown Concord holds its general meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate Carriage House. Enjoy jazz, light refreshments as well as the “celebrity” art auction, featuring a slew of paintings that can be seen on this post. Tickets are $20 and proceeds go to supporting the org’s events and programs.
- Meet Randy Susan Meyers. Author Randy Susan Meyers will be at Gibson’s Bookstore talking about her new book, “The Comfort of Lies,” and signing books as well. The talk begins at 7 p.m.
- Other stuff. The Children’s Place and Parents’ Education Center has a baby and parents caregivers group meeting at 9:30 a.m. There is an open house at the Ralph Waldo Emerson School for Preschoolers at 12:30 p.m. Butter’s has a wine tasting at 4:30 p.m. The Friends of Forgotten Children hosts a monthly sustainable living class at 5:30 p.m. focused on growing your own food. Dance Inspirations has a Zumba class at 5:45 p.m. Families Sharing Without Shame meets at 7 p.m. to discuss substance abuse issues at the Concord Hospital Center for Health Promotion.
