5 Things for Concord's Friday

Thank goodness it is Friday!

"Five Things” is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance about Concord, N.H.

  1. The sunny calm before the storm. Forecasters are calling for sunny skies and highs in the mid-30s. Into the evening and overnight hours, expect clouds and temperatures in the 20s.

  3. 8th Annual Small Business Day. The Business and Industry Association's 8th Annual Small Business Day - the event that was postponed due to the Blizzard of 2013 - has been rescheduled to 7:30 a.m. to noon at The Holiday Inn. The event "is meant to engage small business owners and managers in public policy discussion and debate, as well as provide them with practical and relevant information to help manage and grow their business." Tickets are $15. 
  4. Parkington Sisters. The Parkington Sisters perform their “indie-folk with a classical twist” at the Capitol Center or the Arts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.
  5. Other stuff. Horseshoe Pond Place holds an Arthritis Foundation exercise class at 9 a.m. Community dining is held at noon. Penny bingo fun happens at 1 p.m. Jen holds a Zumba class at 5:30 p.m. at the Concord Dance Academy. Richard Gardzina and Christine Fawson perform at The Purple Pit at 8 p.m.
