5 Things: Meet the New AG, Enjoy Beer, Wine, and Poetry

Here are all the things going on in Concord today, plus the latest weather.

  1. More rain? Possibly. Forecasters are calling for sun and clouds for most of the day, with highs in the mid-70s. By late afternoon though, expect some sowers and thunderstorms, with temps dropping down into the mid-60s.
  2. Meet the new AG. Joe Foster, the new attorney general for the state of New Hampshire, will be meeting with business leaders at 7:30 a.m. at the Grappone Conference Center, as part of a BIA breakfast. Tickets are $30.
  3. Beer and wine. Mmm. Butter’s Fine Food and Wine hosts a wine tasting at 4:30 p.m. Next door, at 5:30 p.m., and Barb’s Beer Emporium, the store hosts a beer tasting.
  4. Poetry tonight. Martha Carlson-Bradley reads from her new book, “Sea Called Fruitfulness,” at 7 p.m. at Gibson’s Bookstore on South Main Street.
  5. Substance abuse help. If your family is facing substance abuse issues, Concord Hospital hosts a free meeting called Families Sharing Without Shame at 7 p.m. Come meet with others who are facing these problems and share your concerns about your children’s addiction and recovery.
