5 Things: More Rain Possible in Concord
Plus, Whitey Bulger, photography, foodie fundraisers, and more.

- More rain? Possibly. Expect thunderstorms, remnants of the storms that hit Oklahoma, in the early afternoon with clouds and highs in the mid-70s. Similar weather will continue into the evening, with lows in the 60s.
- Photo contest. The Five Rivers Conservation Trust holds its annual gathering at 4:45 p.m. at the McLane Center. The org turns 25 and is running a 25th anniversary photo contest beginning today. There will be a bunch of different prizes and a display opportunity too.
- Foodie fundraisers. Do you like to eat out? Go out to eat and help local causes too! From 4 p.m. to close today, 5 percent of what you purchase in the lounge at Margaritas Restaurant will go towards the Friends of Forgotten Children. Today, Friday, and Saturday, print out the flyer in this link and head over the Ruby Tuesday and 20 percent of your meal will go to the Broken Ground Elementary School PTO.
- Learn about Whitey Bulger. The Red River Theatres hosts who have worked on his case, as well as a showing of “The Departed,” at 5:15 p.m. Tickets are $40.
- Other stuff. Just two more days of Restaurant Week. Babies and parents can get together at The Children’s Place and Parents’ Education Center at 9:30 a.m. A parents group meets at 1 p.m. at the Concord Birth Center. It’s wine testing time at Butter’s Fine Food and Wine at 4:30 p.m. Dave Gerard plays at Hermanos at 6:30 p.m. Families Sharing Without Shame meet at 7 p.m. at Concord Hospital to talk about substance abuse issues.
