5 Things: More Snow in Concord, Hunt for Treasure

Plus, jazz musicians help the homeless.

"Five Things” is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance about Concord, N.H.

  1. Hello again snow! Weather forecasters are predicting as much as six inches of snow – maybe more – in the next 24-plus hours, with rain possibly mixed in. Temperatures will be in the 30s.
  2. 44 to 1,400 … During the last couple of months, a lot of folks have friended us on Facebook. We really appreciate it! However, we’re a mere 44 friends away from 1,400. We like friends. Can you tell your friends to become our friend on Facebook? Please help us reach 1,400 this week.
  3. February vacation thing to do. The NRG! Treasure! Exhibition is on display at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all this week.
  4. Jazz tonight. Don’t miss the Tall Granite Jazz Band at the True Brew Barista at 8 p.m. Tim Sink from the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce sits in on sax, BTW. The show is free but your donation goes to help fund the city’s two homeless winter shelters.
  5. Other stuff. It’s storytime at 10:30 a.m. at the Concord Public Library, with a teen movie, with pizza at 5 p.m. The spirituality of food series continues at Grace Episcopal Church with Courtney Wells, an attorney, who drafts agricultural law for the state. She will speak about the political and economic impact in our food choices. Glenn Paladino performs at Hermanos at 6:30 p.m. The knitting club meets at the Penacook branch library at 6:30 p.m. The Barley House hosts trivia at 8 p.m.
