5 Things: More Thunderstorms Expected

Concord's latest weather forecast plus Nearby Registry workshop, "Salaam Dunk" documentary, and more.

  1. Thundering Tuesday. Weather forecasters are calling for showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon with temperatures in the mid-70s. Evening showers are also expected before 10 p.m. Temps will be in the 50s.
  2. Nearby Registry workshop. NEARBY Registry, an online service featuring New Hampshire businesses and online gift registry, is hosting a workshop on how you can participate in local gift registries at the Smile Building. The workshop is at 8 a.m. and is free.
  3. Kids eat free. At Uno’s, from 11 a.m. on, kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée. At 5:30 p.m., Brandi has crafts for the kids. This summer, when the Red Sox win, the same deal is offered to parents at the Ninety-Nine Restaurant. If you have a restaurant or business and you have a special, discount, or fundraising event, add the information to the Patch event listings.
  4. Documentary showing, discussion. “Salaam Dunk” will be shown at 7 p.m. at the Red River Theatres as part of the Crossroads International Film and Discussion Series. The film is about the women of the American University of Iraq basketball team. Also, check out Shelly Hudson’s blog posts featuring the schedules for later this week at the theatre.
  5. Music and fun. Joe Gattuso plays at 6:30 p.m. at Hermanos. The Barley House offers traditional Irish music at 7 p.m. Uno’s hosts trivia at 8 p.m. in the bar.
