5 Things: Music, Fun, Art on a Friday

"Five Things” is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance about Concord, N.H.

1. Friendly Friday? Well, there’s no snow, so that will be good. Expect partly sunny skies with highs near 40. Overnight, mostly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-20s. Expect wind gusts though all day as high as 20 to 25 mph.
2. Meet the artists. , is the latest show at McGowan Fine Art. The show runs through April 19, however, at 5 p.m. a reception will be held with the artists.
3. Fun Family Friday. It’s time for fun at the Concord Family YMCA at 5:15 p.m. Wear your green, enjoy gym games, pool activities, a climbing wall and dinner all for $5.
4. Music night. Sharon Jones and the Downtown Express play The Purple Pit at 7 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., Andrea Veal, Peggo Horstmann Hodes, and Susie Burke sing with David Surette and Kent Allyn at the Concord Community Music School.
5. Other stuff. Concord Toastmasters meets at 7 a.m. at the American Red Cross office. Jen holds a Zumba fitness class at Concord Dance Academy at 5:30 p.m. The film series at NHTI continues with a showing of “The Black Book” in the Sweeney Auditorium at 7 p.m.
