5 Things: Prepare for Snow, Melody, and Budget Hearings

A Thursday in Concord. Here are the details.

"Five Things” is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance about Concord, N.H.

  1. More snow. While there were flurries yesterday, expect more snow today. It’s mixed what Concord will get. Some weather forecasters are saying one inch; others are saying up to four inches through the day. Temperatures will be in the mid-20s to low 30s.
  2. Stuff for kids and parents. The Children’s Place and Parents’ Education Center holds a babies and parents caregivers group at 9:30 a.m. There will be a lapsit event for babies up to 24 months at the Concord Public Library. The Concord Birth Center hosts a parents group meeting at 1 p.m.
  3. Where’s the melody? The Bach Lunch series continues at the Concord Community Music School with Where’s the Melody?, a jazz listener’s guide. The lecture starts at 12:10 p.m. and don’t forget to bring a lunch.
  4. Budget hearings. The House Finance Committee will hold budget hearings in Medicaid expansion at 1 p.m. and the state budget at 4 p.m. Both hearings will be held at Representatives Hall at the Statehouse.
  5. Other stuff. Butter’s Fine Food and Wine holds a tasting at 4:30 p.m. Dance Inspirations hosts a Zumba class at 5:45 p.m. Mike Alberici plays at Hermanos at 6:30 p.m. The Concord Hospital Families Sharing Without Shame holds an open meeting at 7 p.m. for parents to talk with their peers about substance abuse issues. International folk dancing will be held at the IBEW Building at 7:30 p.m.
