5 Things: Public Speaking, Music, and Fun in Concord

"Five Things” is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance about Concord, N.H.

  1. Post-snow clouds. Expect some leftover snow or freezing rain in the morning but then, cloud skies and cold temps, with highs in the 30s. Overnight lows will drop down into the low 20s.
  2. Learn to speak! The Concord Toastmasters meet at 7 a.m. at the American Red Cross building on Maitland Street. The event is free and open to the public.
  3. Friday music. The Musicians of Wall Street hold a recital at the Concord Community Music School at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12-$15. Sandri Bedrosian plays The Purple Pit at 8 p.m.
  4. Concord Light Opera. The first performance of “Princess Ida” will be held at South Congregational Church at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.
  5. Other stuff. Rockin Robins House of Dance has breakdance and musical theatre workshops at 4:45 p.m. Jen hosts a Zumba class at the Concord Dance Academy at 5:30 p.m. The Lowell Mill Girls are at Havenwood Retirement Center at 6:30 p.m. with the Capital Quilter’s Guild.
