5 Things: Stuff for Girls, Jazz, and Snow

It's hump day. What are you going to do today?

"Five Things” is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance about Concord, N.H.

  1. Snow tonight. Weather forecasters are predicting snow tonight with temperatures in the high 20s. Snow is expected through Thursday night or Friday morning. Accumulation will vary from four to eight inches.
  2. Money guru meets with Smart Girls. The next Smart Girl Politics meeting will start at 5 p.m. at The Draft. Mary Murphy, a money guru and Schwab independent broker, talks about tax season.
  3. Buffalo and Tough Cookie. Girls Inc. Concord will meet with Dan Szczesny of The Hippo and his daughter, Janelle, as they talk about their 52 mountains in 52 weeks climbing excursions. The event starts at 5 p.m. at the Green Street Community Center.
  4. Tall Granite Jazz Band. It’s Jazz for a Cause at 8 p.m. at True Brew Barista. The show is free but donations will be accepted to fund the city’s emergency winter homeless shelters.
  5. Other stuff. St. Paul’s Church hosts adult and child mustard seed program at 9 a.m. and rhythm and dance classes for birth to 4 at 10:30 a.m. Dustin’s Fitness Solutions offers a complimentary circuit training class at noon. The Barley House has trivia at 8 p.m.
