5 Things: Sunny Skies, Runners, Kiwanis Fair, and More

Here's what's going on in Concord today.

  1. Hellllooooo sun. After morning fog, the sun comes back out, and highs will reach the high 70s or low 80s. Clouds are expected in the evening, with lows dropping into the mid-40s.
  2. Increase fire danger. The National Weather Service has issued an increased fire danger alert for today. Warm temps, gusty winds, and dry air mass will create an elevated fire danger across the region, including Concord.
  3. Rock ‘n Race street closures. It’s Rock ‘n Race time, from 4 to 7 p.m. There is an attached PDF of the road map on this post. Between those hours, parts of North Main, Pleasant, South Spring, Clinton streets will be closed. Runners will run through the state hospital grounds and then cross over to Pleasant, Liberty, School streets, down to Green and then to Park Street at the Statehouse.
  4. Kiwanis Fair opens at 5 p.m. The 58th annual Kiwanis Fair opens later on this afternoon through 10 p.m. at the Everett Arena. Fun at the fair will happen again on as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  5. Other stuff. Concord WISE comes to Granite Ledges to show off floral displays and art at 9 a.m. Butter’s has a wine tasting at 4:30 p.m. Mike Stockbridge plays Hermanos at 6:30 p.m. The Concord High School drama club presents “The Phantom of the Opera at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10-$12.
