5 Things: Super Heroines in Concord, Dancing, and Democrats

"Five Things” is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance about Concord, N.H.

1. Rain, clouds, and fog. The National Weather Service is predicting showers before noon and then rain in the afternoon, with patchy fog and highs in the high 40s. Expect about one half inch of rain. Into the evening, expect the rain to continue, with lows in the low 30s.
2. Dance, dance, dance … Yowsah … Rockin Robins House of Dance offers ballet/tap classes for tots at 4:15 p.m., hip hop and breakdance classes at 6:15 p.m., and adult hip hop at 6:45 p.m. The Concord Dance Academy offers a Zumba class at 5:30 p.m.
3. Wonder Women! As part of the Independent Lens/PBS Community Cinema film series, the Red River Theatres hosts a free screening of “Wonder Women: The Untold Story of American Superheroines,” at 6:30 p.m.
4. Democrats caucus. The Concord City Democrats caucus at 6:30 p.m. at the state headquarters on North State Street. The committee will be electing delegates to the state convention as well as leadership positions for the committee.
5. Other stuff. The Concord School District's Youth Art Exhibit is now on display at the Steeplegate Mall from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (the reception is Thursday night). The United Baptist Church offers free ESL and homework help at 4 p.m. for fourth-graders through adult. Dave Gerard plays Hermanos at 6:30 p.m. The Barley House features traditional Irish music at 7 p.m. You’re Fired has a BYOB ladies night at 5 p.m. Uno’s has trivia in the bar at 8 p.m.
