5th Coffee with a Cop Held Dec. 18

Concord Police program, held at True Brew Barista, will offer residents the opportunity to meet with officers, discuss community issues.

CONCORD, NH - On Dec. 18, 2015, the Concord Police will be hosting its fifth Coffee with a Cop event.

Officers from the Concord Police Department and community members will come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee, according to a press statement. Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in Concord’s neighborhoods. All community members are invited to attend. The event is being held between 9 and 11 a.m. on Dec. 18, at True Brew Barista, 3 Bicentennial Square Concord.

The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies, or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street. Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction.
