FRANKLIN, NH — Eight organizations were awarded $38,000 worth of grants from Franklin Savings Bank's philanthropic arm recently. The grants by the FSB Fund for Community Advancement were the 42nd round made by the organization. The fund was established 18 years ago to provide support to groups in communities served by the bank that enhance the lives of individuals, said Ron Magoon, the president and CEO of Franklin Savings Bank.
"It’s amazing to see how much we have given back to countless nonprofit organizations since we established our Fund with a $1 million investment," he said. "As a community bank, we feel it’s important to take the time to learn more about the needs of civic groups in the communities we serve, so we can provide the support needed to enable them to continue carrying out their mission."
In this round, Front Door Agency of Nashua received $5,000 as did Newfound Audubon Center and Spaulding Youth Center in Northfield. Granite United Way of Concord received $3,000 as did Winni Womenade of Belmont while Humane Society of Greater Nashua received $1,000. Granite State Animal League and Franklin VNA and Hospice each received $8,000.
