- Expect some wet days this week. The National Weather Service is predicting mixed weather for the week ahead. Expect mostly sunny skies today with highs in the low 80s. Rain is expected on Monday, sometime after 1 p.m. and running into the evening with temps in the 60s. Expect rain on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday too, with temps in the 70s. By Friday, the sun is expected to return with temps in the mid-70s.
- Women rally at the Statehouse. NH Women United will host a rally at 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Statehouse plaza, celebrating the march on Washington a century ago, as well as the progress women have made during that time.
- Help for the unemployed. If you’re out of work, check out the unemployment support group that meets at 8 a.m. on Mondays at EJ’s on Main. Patch also has job listings online and I'll have the latest employment openings around Concord - You're Hired! - posted on Monday afternoon. Good luck in your job hunt!
- Art school fundraiser. Cathy Chin will be selling her watercolors at McGowan Fine Art at 5 p.m. on Monday as part of a fundraiser for the Kimball Jenkins School of Art. The event is sponsored by Better Homes and Garden The Masiello Group. If you can’t make this event, there is still time to bid on those Sox tix. The online auction ends Wednesday.
- Munch on Mexican food, help the Friends. Dine at Margaritas Restaurant on Tuesday and 15 percent of your order will go to the Friends of Forgotten Children. Doors open at 4 p.m.
- Buffalo and Tough Cookie plus poems. If you love books and hiking, check out this memoir/trail guide book release party for at Gibson’s Bookstore at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Then, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Charles Simic will read poems from his latest book.
- Tour Mary Baker Eddy House. Here’s a free thing to do on Thursday: Tour the Mary Baker Eddy historic house from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The tour is sponsored by Charter Trust Company.
- Jazz on Friday. The Tall Granite Jazz Band performs at 9 p.m. on Friday at The Purple Pit. Tickets are $10 and it’s bound to be a blast.
