9 Things You Need to Know About This Week

Great stuff is happening in Concord.

Here is everything you need to know about the week ahead:

  1. Midweek rain? Possibly. The National Weather Service is calling for a pretty good weather week ahead. Expect sunny skies on Monday with highs in the mid-70s. Overnight lows will drop down into the 40s. Tuesday could reach 80. But Wednesday and Thursday bring a chance of showers with temps in the high 60s. The sun returns on Friday, with temps in the 70s and rain is possible this weekend.
  2. Are you out of work? There’s help. An unemployment support group meets at 8 a.m. on Mondays at EJ’s on Main Restaurant at the Holiday Inn on North Main Street. And be looking for the latest job openings post on Monday afternoon.
  3. Book club reads Harbach. The Gibson’s Bookstore book group is reading from “The Art of Fielding,” by Chad Harbach, at 7 p.m. on Monday.
  4. Passion for Caring. This annual event will be held at Company C at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tickets are $50 and all proceeds, including the auction items, will benefit the Concord Regional VNA.
  5. Meet Katherine Hall Page. Author Katherine Hall Page will be at Gibson’s at 3 p.m. on Thursday talking about her new novel.
  6. Nonprofit board training. The New Hampshire Department of Justice Charitable Trust Unit hosts a free training for volunteers at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the McAuliffe Elementary School.
  7. Open house. All Elements Healing Revolution hosts a free open house at 10 a.m. on Friday. Food, treats, massage, and other services are available.
  8. Is there a ghost in my house? Find out how to find them at The Office Suite at 6 p.m. on Friday as the TAG Team Paranormal Society offers its Ghost Hunting 101 class. Tickets are $20.
  9. Peaceful voices. The Concord Chorale presents its May concert, at 8 p.m. on Friday, at the Unitarian Universalist Church (as well as weekend dates too). Tickets are $15-$20.
