Last year I wrote to the City Council about my concerns for our urban trees. They provide shade and improve the liveability of our city. Last evening the City Council met and discussed the Report from General Services regarding this Urban Tree Removal.
Today I was shocked into action again as I saw further deforestation of our urban trees. We need to act now if we want to save our city trees.
Please join me in asking for a Moratorium on any further tree removal until a rational policy is in place. We need to balance the risk trees pose with the value they provide. If we wait - it will be too late as trees, like children, take years to mature.
