A Passion for Caring, Tomie dePaola, and Concord Library Fun

Here's what's going on in the city today.

  1. Much needed rain? Maybe. The National Weather Service says there is a 40 percent chance of showers after 10 a.m. with highs in the mid-70s. Rain is likely into the evening as well, with temps dropping down into the low 50s. About a tenth of an inch of rain could fall.
  2. On the radio … Tune into 105 JYY on your FM dial for the Concord Patch Report at 8 a.m. where Nazzy, Mya, and I talk about the latest things going on in the city every Wednesday. There will be no discussion of Jodi Arias or Kim Kardashian just fun things going on in the city.
  3. The art of Tomie dePaola. Children’s illustrator Tomie dePaola has artwork on display at the Mill Brook Gallery and Sculpture Garden. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  4. Passion for Caring. Company C hosts the Passion for Caring annual event with a silent auction, presentation, and refreshments. Tickets are $50 and all the proceeds benefit the Concord Regional VNA.
  5. Other stuff. The Concord Public Library hosts family storytime at 10:30 a.m. and Paws for Pages at 3:30 p.m. Dustin’s Fitness Solutions offers a complimentary circuit training class at noon. The Primetime Wellness Club has a healthy happy hour for the ladies at 5:30 p.m. The Friends of White Park is hosting the presentation of skate house/multi-purpose building at 6:30 p.m. in the board of director's room at the UNH Law School.The Penacook branch library offers a knitting club at 6:30 p.m. Paul Heckel plays Hermanos at 6:30 p.m. The Barley House has trivia at 8 p.m.
