Abandoned Dog Found Tied to a Tree in Bow
Update: An abandoned dog was found near Vaughan Road in Bow this morning. Its owner has come forward and police are investigating.

BOW, NH — Bow Police investigators asked for the public's help after a dog was found this morning tied to a tree on Vaughan Road in Bow, according to an alert, and quickly received it. Police, according to Sgt. Art Merrigan of the Bow Police Department, received a call about the dog on March 29, 2017. A few hours after issuing an alert, the dog's owner came forward.
"We have been contacted by the dog's owner," Merrigan stated. "We are still looking into the circumstances of the incident."
The dog was taken to the Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord-Merrimack County for treatment. The dog was scanned for a microchip however one was not located. The situation is still being investigated, he noted. If you recognize this dog please, call the Bow Police Department at 603-228-0511.

“The dog had been left tied to a tree and appeared to have been there for a lengthy period of time,” Merrigan stated. “When the officer arrived, the dog was resting inside the vehicle of the person who reported this incident.”
