Two Arrests Made After Shooter Incident in Hooksett

Two men were arrested earlier today in Hooksett for felony reckless conduct after police were called to the area for a report of an active shooter scenario.

Anthony Zappala, 23, of Merrimack, was arrested on Dec. 17, along with Shamus Rodriguez, 19, of Manchester, after police were called to the Poultry Products outlet on the Hooksett-Manchester line, after complaints of bullets being shot into the building and several cars.

According to Manchester Police Chief David Mara, officers from both communities were called to the location, 11 Bemis Road, after receiving the complaints around 12:45 p.m.

Areas of Route 3A were closed to traffic as police canvassed the area looking for the shooters.

The Manchester SWAT unit was also called in to assist.

Police searched the area behind the Bass Pro Shop and the poultry location and eventually followed the gunfire into Manchester in the woods behind Front Street.

Both Zappala and Rodriguez were apprehended in the area of Dunbarton Road and Hackett Hill Road. They were allegedly in possession of long rifles and handguns.
