Upon arrival, the reporting officer approached the home in question and alleged seeing through a window “what appeared to be younger individuals consuming alcoholic beverages” since there were no shades on the windows and the lights were on. Officers reported seeing several cars in the area.
One officer stated that, “Even before knocking on the door to the residence I could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage in the area.”

At the front door, a young woman who didn’t live at the apartment answered. She reportedly told officers she would go and find out who actually lived in the apartment. After about a minute or so, another officer wrote that while no one came to the door, the officer could see people walking upstairs. Another officer reported seeing lights being shut off inside the home.
One of the officers then entered the apartment and allegedly saw open containers in the kitchen and living room.
“There were beer cans and bottles strewn everywhere inside the house,” the officer alleged.
According to the reporting officer, eight people were found in a number of rooms in the upstairs of the home. Two women at the party allegedly stated that an area of the house was set up for a beer pong game. Portable breath tests were issued to some of the people at the party.
After getting the names of the individuals and running checks on them, it was realized that Van Nest had an active electronic bench warrant from Feb. 1, 2012, for an unlawful possession charge. He was arrested and charged. Van Nest was later released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail. Van Nest was arraigned on Jan. 7, 2013.
Both Page and Zarakotas are due in court next week.
