Air Quality Alerts Continue To Warn Of Wildfire Smoke In The Northeast
Breathing issues, air quality concerns appear to be dissipating in New Hampshire as orange smog and smoke from Canada blankets other states.
CONCORD, NH — Haze from Canadian wildfires that have turned areas of the northeast into murky orange fog appear to be dissipating in New Hampshire, according to the late smoke-smog maps and testing.
The latest air quality survey maps from AirNow and the EPA show nearly all New Hampshire rated “Good” air quality, the highest ranking. An unhealthy air mass is spread across western Massachusetts and southwestern Vermont. Most air quality alerts triggering concern are in the lower Northeast states.
In New York City, the National Weather Service posted a timelapse video showing the thick orange smoke moving into the nation’s largest city.
