Albright Stumps for Clinton in Concord, at SNHU

Former Secretary of State, UN Ambassador will discuss the fight for women's rights as human rights.

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will join the Woman’s Club of Concord on Wednesday to discuss how Hillary Clinton has spent her life taking on the tough fights and delivering for women and families, both at home and around the world, a commitment the two have long shared.

She will also discuss Hillary’s leadership at the State Department and her commitment to keeping our country safe at a discussion with the World Affairs Council in Manchester.

In 1995, then-First Lady Clinton and then-United Nations Ambassador Madeleine Albright led the U.S. delegation to the UN Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, where Clinton proclaimed that “women’s rights are human rights.”

Albright will also discuss Clinton’s work to elevate gender equality as a key pillar of U.S. foreign policy, advance women’s economic empowerment, champion programs to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, and spearhead public-private partnerships to improve the status of women and girls.

Two weeks ago, Albright was featured, along with other foreign policy leaders, in a video touting the smart leadership and dogged determination that Hillary Clinton displayed during her impressive tenure as Secretary of State.
