ALERT: Thunderstorm, Hazardous Weather Notices Issued for NH
The National Weather Service issued two warnings; residents should prepare for damaging storms, with heavy rain, hail, and then, hot temps.

GRAY, ME — It isn’t often that the National Weather Service issues two storm alerts within a few hours of each other, but on July 18, 2016, forecasters did just that.
The NWS issued both a "hazardous weather outlook" and a "special weather statement" for all of New Hampshire, warning residents of a cold front coming into the region that will bring dangerous storms this afternoon.
“Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and continue through the evening,” according to the NWS hazardous weather outlook alert. “A few storms may become severe with damaging winds, heavy rain, and possibly hail.”

Forecasters are suggesting that the worst of the storms will hit between 1 and 8 p.m. with the greatest storm threat being southern New Hampshire.
“The primary threats from any storms that develop will be damaging winds, with hail and heavy rainfall also possible,” the special statement noted. “Be prepared to take the necessary action if threatening weather approaches. Those with outdoor activities including boaters, campers and hikers should be especially aware and be prepared to seek safe shelter or safe harbor.”
