Both lanes of traffic were stopped due to the crash and other troopers were called to assist. A second trooper parked his cruiser at the end of the Exit 13 on ramp to I-93 and activated his lights in order to slow down traffic that was approaching the accident scene.
While placing flares, the trooper saw a 2004 Toyota Tacoma allegedly “approach his location traveling at a high rate of speed.” The driver, Reale, reportedly lost control of the pickup and struck another vehicle while he tried to slow down.

Neither Reale nor the driver of the vehicle he reportedly struck was injured in the crash.
The trooper alleged that Reale “might have been operating the vehicle while under the influence” and “was placed through a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed,” according to the report. The trooper allegedly found a scale, plastic bags, a small quantity of drugs, and a large sum of money inside the truck, and Reale was arrested. He was released on $1,000 cash bail and is due in court on Feb. 23.
