Student Emergency Alert System Tested At Concord’s St. Paul’s School On Tuesday Morning

CONCORD, NH — Concord, Bow, and Hopkinton residents may hear an air raid-like siren alert on Tuesday morning.

If you do, do not worry. It’s not the end of the world. It’s St. Paul’s School.

The school will conduct a test of its student emergency siren around 8:40 a.m. on June 30. The siren is often followed by a prerecorded message, so students know it is only a test — but what they should be listening for in case of an emergency.

The school, which is located at 325 Pleasant St., usually tests the siren three times a year: in the fall after classes have started, in the spring, and again in the summer for summer school students.

The siren is often heard in the South End, West End, Bow, and Hopkinton, and sometimes, in the North End and Downtown.

Sam Keach, the assistant director of campus safety at the school, told Patch Sunday about the alert system test.
