Just before 1:30 a.m. on June 7, police were sent to Sexton Avenue for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, officers spoke to a caller and found evidence a bullet had struck a second-floor window of an apartment building in the area. Lt. Thomas Yerkes of the department’s bureau of investigations said the bullet did not hit anyone inside the building and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

“Detectives soon began a follow-up investigation and spoke with multiple witnesses who had been in the area at the time of the shooting,” he said. “Through the course of the investigation, detectives have discovered a vehicle of interest and are seeking to identify and speak with the owner and/or occupants of the vehicle.”

Yerkes said the vehicle is believed to be a white pickup truck, last seen traveling north on South Main Street near Thorndike Street around 1:09 a.m. This remains an active and ongoing investigation, he said.
