CONCORD, NH — A local teen facing several charges is expected back in court next month, according to documents.
Genevieve Evangeline Harriman, 19, previously of Epsom but now a member of Concord's unhoused community, was arrested or given summons four times between March and July connected to theft and warrants.
On March 7, she was arrested on theft and willful concealment charges after an incident at Cumbies on North Main Street on Feb. 11 — stealing a Mountain Dew Voltage drink from the store. A month and a half later, she was given a bench warrant summons at the Friendly Kitchen on South Commercial Street. On July 8, she was charged with theft after an incident at Concord Mart on North Main Street. Harriman was arrested again on July 23 on a willful concealment charge after an incident at the Hannaford supermarket at 73 Fort Eddy Road. She was also charged with breach of bail, theft by unauthorized taking-less than $1,000, and receiving stolen property-less than $1,000 charges and a possession-use of tobacco products by a minor violation after an incident at Empire Pools and Hot Tubs at 105 Manchester St.

Harriman pleaded not guilty to the Cumbies theft charges.
In the Hannaford case, according to an affidavit, police were sent to the store around 9:30 p.m. on June 6 after a report of a woman concealing items in her backpack.
The loss prevention officer spoke to police and then, approached the women's room where she was accused of hiding. After being questioned about shoplifting, Harriman "pulled out a bag of candy and said, 'I was going to pay for it'," an officer wrote. When asked about food in her backpack, "she opened the bag and pulled out a cake and a couple of containers of Ben and Jerry's ice cream and other miscellaneous items," the officer stated. An employee went into the restroom and pulled out two more bags of candy found in the trash.
The loss prevention officer estimated the items were valued at $47.31.
Dispatch told the officer there was an active warrant for Harriman and she was arrested.
Harriman filed a request on June 8 to receive legal assistance, but the court rejected the request due to "the value of your real estate and/or available funds," Clerk of Court Tracy Meyer wrote.
On June 21, another officer picked up an evidence package from Hannaford connected to the case, including an inventory of the items and surveillance video of Harriman "concealing items in her backpack," the report stated.
A status hearing was booked for Aug. 6 in Concord District Court on the Cumbies charges, but she failed to appear. The court issued a bench warrant for her arrest.
On Aug. 26, Harriman's attorney filed a motion to vacate the warrant due to her being unhoused, and without a phone, she missed the hearing. The notice said the court was sending mail to her mother's home. The attorney said Harriman was now in Manchester, had a phone, was attempting to access treatment, and become employed.
Harriman is due back in court on Oct. 22.
