Fall is officially here in Concord, and there's no shortage of ways to make the most of it. From festivals and farmers markets to pumpkin patches, live music and other seasonal fun, October brings plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy what's happening close to home.
Here are some events and activities happening in and around Concord this October.

When: Friday, Oct. 23, 5:30–7:30 p.m.
Where: Main Street, Downtown Concord, NH
Head downtown during Halloween Howl, a free, family-friendly Halloween celebration on Main Street. The evening includes community trick-or-treating, a trunk-or-treat, costume contest, ghostly games, live music, food trucks and other entertainment, including a flash mob and dance performance. Main Street will be closed to traffic from Centre Street/Loudon Road to Hills Avenue for the festivities.
When: Friday, Oct. 23, 4–10 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 24, 11 a.m.–10 p.m.
Where: Downtown Laconia, NH
About a half-hour from Concord, the Laconia Pumpkin Festival returns for two days of fall festivities, including its signature tower of glowing jack-o'-lanterns. Visitors can expect local vendors, food and drinks, costume parades and live entertainment ranging from music and laser shows to dancing witches, while Saturday also features the Runaway Pumpkin 10K and 5K Run/Walk.
When: Friday, Oct. 30, 4–7 p.m.
Where: Sensory Seekers, 85 Manchester St., Suite 5, Concord, NH
Celebrate Halloween in an inclusive environment during Sensory Seekers' 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat Party. The indoor and outdoor event includes spooky-themed open play; costumes are encouraged but not required. Tickets are $20 and booked in one-hour time slots for indoor open play, with access to outdoor activities throughout the event.
When: Saturdays through Oct. 31, 8:30 a.m.–noon
Where: Capitol Street, adjacent to the State House lawn, Concord, NH
Stock up on local fall favorites at the Concord Farmers' Market, held Saturday mornings through the end of October. The long-running market brings together more than 40 vendors during peak season, with offerings including fresh produce, meats, honey, maple products, flowers, cheeses, baked goods and other locally made products. SNAP/EBT is accepted, and the market also participates in programs designed to expand access to locally grown food.
When: Thursdays through Sundays throughout October, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Where: Sunfox Farm, behind 6 Loudon Road, Concord, NH
Spend a fall day exploring Sunfox Farm's Corn Maze and PYO Pumpkins, featuring a six-acre corn maze with sections of sunflowers, interactive puzzles and a scarecrow-finding challenge. Festival weekends on Oct. 10–11 and Oct. 24–25 add live music, artisan vendors, food trucks and games, while separately ticketed 21-and-older evening events are planned for Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 24. General farm admission is free, while corn maze wristbands cost $13 for ages 11 and older and are free for children 10 and younger; visitors can also pick their own pumpkins for an additional charge.
