Concord Family YMCA Announces Upcoming Camps

April Vacation + Summer Camps offer fun for grades K - 8

Spring has sprung, so it’s time to plan for April school vacation week.  The Concord Family YMCA is a perennial favorite with kids and parents alike; their April School Vacation Camp serves children and teens in Kindergarten through 8th grade.  Camp hours are 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.  The YMCA’s KYDS Camp (Grades K – 5) and Teen Camp (Grades 6 to 8) are packed with fun, and allow busy families to schedule a whole week of camp or opt for camp by the day.  Campers do not need to be members of the Y or Kydstop After School Program to participate; all are welcome.  To guarantee a spot, contact Chris Fogg at 228.9622 Ext. 123 or cfogg@concordymca.org.

After April Vacation, it’s just a quick hop, skip, and a jump to balmy summer days.  The Concord Family YMCA’s Summer Day Camps kick off the week of June 18, with KYDS Camp (K – fifth-grade) and Sports Camp options.  In the KYDS Camp program, campers have an opportunity to participate in traditional summer camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, swimming, and field trips.  Each new week of camp is a chance to celebrate a different fun and exciting theme.  A truly unique week at KYDS Camp is “Bumpers and Beads”, designed to encourage and develop the YMCA’s character traits (caring, honesty, respect, + responsibility) in every camper.  Campers earn special beads for their positive choices while exploring a different character trait each day.  To learn more about KYDS Camp, contact Chris Fogg at 228.9622 Ext. 123 or cfogg@concordymca.org.

Like the KYDS Camp crew, participants in the Concord Family YMCA’s Sports Camps are also having a great time while learning important life lessons.  Sports Camps are centered around fun and fitness.  Based out of the Y’s downtown location, campers have access to YMCA facilities allowing for daily swimming and rock wall climbing.  Local parks and athletic fields will be visited frequently, while local college students/athletes work with campers to learn sport specific skills.  While participants play a lot of games, they’re also working to build fundamental skills, teamwork, and game specific strategies.  To learn more about Sports Camps, contact Rob Rojek at 228.9622 Ext. 122 or rrojek@concordymca.org

The Concord Family YMCA is a community-based, charitable, nonprofit, social service agency devoted to serving the needs of all families and all ages in the Concord area.  The organization is a full service YMCA with a main facility featuring a pool, gym, fitness, and more, and an adjacent 18,000 square foot childcare facility.
