NH Liquor Panel Announces Spirit of the Year

The New Hampshire Liquor Commission has recognized Skinnygirl Margarita as Spirit of the Year, Sazerac Company, Inc. as Spirit Supplier of the Year and Jack Daniel Distillery as Distillery of the Year.

“Our award winners effectively create brand advantage within our stores and their sales are a result of those efforts,” explained Joseph Mollica, New Hampshire Liquor Commission Chairman. “They understand where we need to be with various products and work with us to create aggressive price points which our consumers appreciate.”

Spirit of the Year

Skinnygirl Margarita was created by reality TV star and New York Times Bestselling Author, Bethenny Frankel. Produced by Skinnygirl Cocktails, this refreshing margarita is only 100 calories per serving and is full of natural flavors. It is lightly sweetened with agave nectar and made with premium Blue Agave Tequila.

In 2011 Skinnygirl Cocktails was acquired by Beam Global, the fourth largest premium spirits company in the world, and Skinnygirl Margarita was introduced at select New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets. The product was an instant hit and made full distribution in just two weeks. To-date, the product has sold over 2,600 cases and produced over $149,900 in sales at New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets.

“Skinnygirl Margarita has been a popular choice among our customers,” stated Director of Marketing, Sales & Distribution Rick Gerrish. “The product offers a healthier option while still maintaining delicious flavor which is why it is our award choice for 2011.”

Skinnygirl Cocktails also produces Skinnygirl Sangria and Skinnygirl White Cranberry Cosmo.

Spirit Supplier of the Year

Sazerac Company, Inc. is a family-operated spirit and cordial company located in Metairie, Louisiana. Since the late 1800’s Sazerac has produced a variety of beverage brands and managed a number of distilleries throughout the region.

The New Hampshire Liquor Commission named the organization Spirit Supplier of the Year for its efforts in generating consumer demand and increasing sales across all product lines. Taaka Vodka has become a top twenty-five selling product at the New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets while Sazarec’s antique bourbon collection regularly sells out every year. In addition, the company reinvigorated the vodka brand in New Hampshire with its innovative Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka.

“Sazerac understands the unique dynamic of our state and provides excellent execution at the retail level,” said New Hampshire Liquor Commissioner Mark Bodi. “They are a premier company with a long history of distinction.”

Distillery of the Year

Jack Daniel Distillery is the oldest registered distillery in the United States. Located in Tennessee, Jack Daniel’s renowned brand of American whiskey has proven to be one of the best since its creation in 1866.

“Jack Daniel’s iconic taste and brand have made it a leading producer of fine American whiskey,” stated Mollica. “The organization’s innovative outlook has resulted in several new products that are very successful in our stores.”

The New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets sell four families of Jack Daniel’s whiskey including No. 7 Black, No. 7 Green, Single Barrel and Tennessee Honey.
