The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Rising property taxes are making it difficult for folks of all ages to stay in their homes and communities they love. We must provide property tax relief and stop downshifting from the state onto the backs of local property taxpayers. I will work to ensure our state budget reflects our values— including properly funding high quality public education and working to stop the diversion of public dollars to private and religious schools through the zero oversight, zero accountability, over-budget Edelblut voucher program. Additionally, it should go without saying, but let me make it abundantly clear that I will work to bring proactive protections for reproductive freedom to keep the government out of the personal decisions about if, when, and how to grow your family.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I’m bringing a fresh voice, and fresh perspective to take us into the future — we simply can’t afford to go backwards. You deserve a Senator willing to devote the time and energy necessary to best serve our communities. You deserve a dedicated public servant in this seat and I’m the only one in this race ready, willing, and able to make this a full time job. While I’ve not had the privilege of attending law school, anyone who participated in House Election Law hearings can tell you I understand the complexities of law and can translate it into common sense plain language to ensure everyone knows the real intent and impact of any particular bill. My life experience of living paycheck to paycheck is similar to many in our district. This struggle has taught me fiscal responsibility, persistence and empathy. Like so many hardworking Granite Staters, I know what it’s like to juggle making ends meet without affordable childcare, without a safety net, while treading water just to get by. You deserve someone who listens, not lectures, and someone focused on your needs, not personal gains. I am confident in my abilities to be the State Senator you deserve. It would be an honor to earn your vote September 10.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform:
Reproductive freedom, properly funded high quality public education, safe & welcoming communities for all, defending our democracy and your right to vote.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this position?
Six sponsored bills signed into law just this year. 100% attendance record and 100% rating from Planned Parenthood. 2023 National Conference of State Legislatures Emerging Leader of NH. On Bow’s Select Board, bringing people together to advance priorities and deliver results has been key to my success there. Leading the way, I worked to bring transparency in town government, increase accessibility, secured appropriate COLAs and wage increases for municipal employees who keep our community going, lowered energy costs through community power, and helped drive record turn out in our municipal elections for the last three cycles by uplifting community-focused candidates. Like so many of you, every step of the way I have faced obstacles, challenges and difficulties. Through it all, I’ve persevered and in the Senate, I’ll bring the persistence, passion, and devotion to public service that you deserve.
The best advice ever shared with me was…
Be true to yourself, be ready, and believe in your power to make a difference
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I’m a lifelong Democrat willing to put in the work to take steps forward. We need to bring people together, not push them away with divisive rhetoric or dirty politics of the past. It’s time for a new era in politics where we are focused on getting things done and bringing hope and joy to uplift our communities. In the face to face conversations I’m having with voters across the district, it’s clear, we’re all tired of the same old, same old kind of politics. Let’s work together to build a brighter future.
