Another Sunny Day to Enjoy in Concord

Here are 5 Things you need to know for April 18, 2013.

  1. More sun. Expect partly sunny skies with highs in the mid-60s. Patchy fog is expected into the evening with lows in the mid-40s.
  2. Stay with Patch for Boston Marathon bombing coverage. Patch has a field of reporters in Boston covering all kinds of angles in the wake of the Boston Marathon attacks. .
  3. Meet Jeffrey Rose. The Business and Industry Association will hold an event for business leaders to meet the new head of DRED, Jeffrey Rose. The event will be held at the 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn. Tickets are $20.
  4. Another writer at Gibson’s. Meet author Robert Begiebing at 7 p.m. at Gibson’s Bookstore. He's a professor at SNHU and will be talking about his six books, including “The Turner Erotica.”
  5. Other stuff. The Children’s Place and Parents’ Education Center holds a baby and parents caregivers group at 9:30 a.m. Butter’s Fine Food and Wine hosts a wine tasting at 4:30 p.m. Jon Lorentz is playing at Hermanos at 6:30 p.m. Concord Hospital hosts Families Sharing Without Shame, a substance abuse meeting for parents to talk about issues their children fact, at 7 p.m. Red River Theatres hosts the Reel Paddling Film Festival at 7 p.m. Hugh Masekela performs at the Capitol Center for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. Joan Watson-Jones plays The Purple Pit at 8 p.m.
