Hundreds of residents came to on April 7, for the Concord Parks & Recreation Department's annual Easter Egg Hunt.
If you were late, you missed it, since the kids hit the field near the historic trolley depot and wiped the place clean out of eggs in about a minute.
Luckily though, for those late comers, some kids were handing out candy to other kids who didn't have eggs.

Near the pool, a woman with a handbag was listening for kids who weren't able to get any eggs.
"Come here," she whisped to some kids and their parents. "I think I saw a few extra eggs over here."

She quickly showed some of the other kids where they could find a couple of eggs here and there, in the trees and rocks along the trail leading up to Liberty Street.
The parents quickly realized what was going on and thanked the woman for helping their children find some eggs. The woman said that last year, her son wasn't able to get any eggs and she decided this year, to show up with some extras, just in case it happened to other kids.
We don't know who the woman was - we'll just call her the Easter Egg Fairy Godmother - but it was nice that she put a smile on the faces of a handful of kids who otherwise would not have gotten any eggs on Saturday. And next year, maybe some of us should carry on this tradition, so that there are eggs for everyone.
