Second Lawsuit Filed in Rand Case

A mother reportedly assaulted at Walmart also files suit

Concord attorney has informed state corrections officials that a second lawsuit is forthcoming in the mistakenly early release case, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader

notified officials by mail on April 10, that a woman from Manchester who was allegedly mugged by Rand at the on Loudon Road was also filing a suit, seeking damages.

Police allege that after the Walmart incident, Rand went over the on Manchester Street and robbed a female clerk there are knifepoint. He is also wanted for allegedly stealing items from a construction company. The woman in the Cumberland Farms incident has also for a lawsuit against the state. Douglas reportedly stated that the Manchester woman sustained injuries during the assault.

State officials have admitted that the Adult Parole Board and an executive assistant failed to see if there were detainers pending against Rand prior to releasing him, according to a number of press reports.
