McGowan Fine Art announces a series of informal seminars for artists focusing on legal issues. Kimberly Peaslee, Intellectual Property lawyer at Upton & Hatfield, will be presenting. We encourage you to attend all of the seminars because sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know! These are free and open to the public but seating is limited so we are asking that you RSVP to art@mcgowanfineart.com and put Artist’s Legal Series in the subject line. The presentation will last till 6:30 leaving partipants extra time for questions. Nibblies and wine will be served.

ENTITY FORMATION/BUSINESS PLANNING

We will introduce the Artist’s Legal Series and discuss the topics to be covered over the next several months and we will introduce the various entities that may be used for your company. We will also introduce the cast of characters you may choose to enlist to help support your creative business including accountants, bankers, and lawyers. We will briefly touch on issues relating to hiring employees as well. RSVP between September 1 to September 15.
