Bank Wins Business Award In Hooksett

CONCORD, NH - From The Merrimack: Merrimack County Savings Bank (the Merrimack) has been named Small Business of the Year by the Hooksett Kiwanis. The award will be given out at the Hooksett Kiwanis Community Leaders event on Tuesday, April 3rd at the Southern New Hampshire University Dining Center in Manchester. Several hundred guests are expected to attend the reception that celebrates volunteers, educators and businesses who have demonstrated professional excellence and outstanding commitment to the Hooksett community. The Merrimack was selected as one of the event’s top honorees.

“I’m honored and absolutely humbled by this recognition,” said Philip Emma, President of the Merrimack. “It’s especially significant because our second Hooksett branch has been open for less than a year’s time and we recently celebrated our 150th anniversary in 2017. I am grateful for our employees’ tireless efforts to serve others and their commitment to the greater good. I could not be prouder of them and all they’ve done to improve the communities we serve – now and over the last 150 years!”

The Merrimack opened its second Hooksett branch, located at the interaction of Route 3 and the Route 28 bypass on 360 Londonderry Turnpike in May 2017. The Merrimack’s Hooksett Welcome Center branch, which opened in 2015, is located on 530 West River Road and features entrances from both Route 3A and the I-93 North Welcome Center. Stephanie Andruss, Assistant Vice President, Branch and Business Development Manager, oversees both locations.

“The news of this award came as wonderful surprise!” said Andruss. “We’re grateful and feel very privileged to be among the outstanding citizens and organizations being recognized for their dedication to Hooksett’s well-being.”

During the month of September, the Bank requested locals to vote for the nonprofit that benefitted the town the most. The contest, held at both Hooksett offices, presented $1000 to the nonprofit receiving the most votes, which was eventually won by the Hooksett American Legion. The Bank has also provided employee and financial support to the Hooksett Chamber of Commerce and Hooksett Kiwanis, as well as pledged money to the Hooksett Library’s summer reading programs. The local offices provide community bulletin boards for non-profit organizations to post events, and allow community groups to use its conference room as a central meeting space.

The Merrimack is also known for providing excellent service for personal, business, mortgage and loan products. Additional honorees of the 2018 Hooksett Kiwanis Community Leaders Awards include: Katelyn Howe, Youth Volunteer of the Year, Tammy Hooker, Adult Volunteer of the Year, Merchants Automotive Group, Large Business of the Year, Donna Fitzpatrick, Municipal Volunteer of the Year, Bernadette Olsen, Middle School Educator of the Year, Shannon Baldoumas, Elementary School Educator of the Year and Girl Scout Troop 10085, winner of the Community Impact Award.
