Bathroom Exhaust Fire Sends Firefighters To Concord’s South End: Watch
Firefighters from Concord were sent to a fire at 56 Chesley St. on Tuesday. Other firefighters around the capital region offered mutual aid.
CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to the South End to extinguish a house fire on Tuesday.
Around 8:45 p.m., Capital Area Mutual Aid Fire Compact dispatchers began receiving reports about a fire at 56 Chesley St. at the intersection of Thompson Street. The initial information was that a bathroom exhaust had caught on fire.
The first caller reported smoke coming from a bathroom exhaust fan, and when they pulled it down, it was engulfed in flames, dispatch said.

When firefighters arrived, they confirmed seeing smoke and requested a working fire call.
Firefighters said “a pretty good fire” was happening with an extension into the attic. While attempting to extinguish the fire, a firefighter warned others that slates were coming off the house's roof, according to scanner chatter.

Dispatch requested firefighters and medics from Bow, Boscawen, Hooksett, Hopkinton, Loudon, Manchester, Pembroke, and the Penacook Rescue to cover the city.
Firefighters, at post time, are still at the scene.
