Bay State Man Charged with DWI After Allegedly Killing Pedestrian in NH

NHSP: Paul Larkin of East Bridgewater, MA, was driving drunk when he hit Paul Gelinas of Lunenburg, MA, on Route 112.

CONCORD, NH - The New Hampshire State Police Collision and Analysis Reconstruction Unit is asking for assistance with an alleged drunk driving incident that took the life of a pedestrian in Lincoln yesterday afternoon.

Paul F. Larkin III, 38, of East Bridgewater, MA, was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated on Jan. 23, 2016.

According to police, Larkin was driving a 2010 Dodge Challenger on Route 112/Main Street in Lincoln at just before 6 p.m. when he allegedly hit a pedestrian who was walking westbound on the westbound side of the road.

That man – Paul A. Gelinas, 57, of Lunenburg, MA, “serious injuries and was transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, where he succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced dead,” according to Sgt. Victor Muzzey of the NHSP.

Larkin was immediately arrested and is due in court on Feb. 25.

Lincoln Police, along with the collision unit, troopers, Lincoln Fire and Rescue teams, and Lin-Wood Ambulance Service, all assisted at the scene.

Muzzy noted in a press statement that the investigation is ongoing and anyone who witnessed the collision is being asked to contact Trooper Richard Shute at the New Hampshire State Police-Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 603-223-8952.
