Belmont, Salem Men Bagged for Shoplifting, Drugs

Two men are facing charges after an alleged afternoon shoplifting spree in Concord last month.

Andrew Decormier, 20, of Belmont, was arrested at 4:20 p.m. on Nov. 29, on a receiving stolen property charge.

Donald Adams, 21, of Salem, was arrested at 4:20 p.m. on Nov. 29, and charged with possession of controlled drugs, a felony, driving after revocation or suspension, and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

According to Concord Police arrest reports, officers were called to the Sears on Loudon Road for a report of two shoplifters in custody.

A loss prevention officer at the store showed the officers security footage from the store that allegedly showed Adams select a pair of Lugz boots, hide behind a rack, and switch the boots with the shoes he was wearing at the time. Adams then allegedly walked out of the store without paying for the boots.

Decormier allegedly stole socks and cologne, valued at about $33, and left the store without paying for the items. Both were later apprehended and brought back to the store. The officers later arrested both men.

After taking them into custody, Adams reportedly allowed a search of his vehicle and officers allegedly found items that were taken from J.C. Penney, including a sweater and jeans valued at $60. An officer also allegedly found a glass pipe in a center console of the car and a metal pipe in the glove box, with burnt marijuana residue.

While processing Adams, officers allegedly found suboxone in a package of cigarettes.

Both Adams and Decormier were released on personal recognizance bail and are due in court in January 2014.
