Why are you seeking elective office?

I am running for Charter Commission because I care deeply about our Concord public schools. I believe that my experience as a Concord resident for over 30 years with 3 children in our Concord public schools, as an attorney who has advised businesses and nonprofits with respect to governance issues, and my service as as an elected member of the last Concord Charter Commission 10 years ago will allow me to serve Concord voters well.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

The single most important issue involving the School District Charter is to ensure that the Charter remains a simple and clear document that authorizes Concord voters to elect school board members who can make informed decisions about our schools and be accountable to voters.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

My experience as a member of the last Charter Commission 10 years ago which recommended that control of the Charter be transferred from the State Legislature to Concord voters is a key experience that will allow me to serve our Concord community well. 10 years ago, our successful Charter Commission work was overwhelmingly approved by Concord voters.
