Why are you seeking elective office?

I have lived in Concord for 46 years. I believe that the Concord School District Charter has served the District well. I am running to maintain the independence of the District.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Since I am not running for the School Board, I think this question is not applicable.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

At present, I don't know of other challengers. I would imagine that I have more experience than most candidates.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)

N/A

How do you think local officials performed in responding to the coronavirus? What if anything would you have done differently?

Reasonably well. The CDC's understanding of the science surrounding the virus changed and the District was presented with a situation in flux. I'm not sure I would have done much differently.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Service on the Concord Board; 12 years on the Board of Trustees of an independent school; nearly 50 years of legal practice; service on a number of charitable boards including, at present Chair of the Board of New Hampshire Humanities and on the board of Girls' Inc. New Hampshire. Does three years as a Little League umpire count?

The best advice ever shared with me was:

Listen more than you talk; treat everyone with respect; it never hurts to say thank you.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

Anything voters might like to know can be found on my law firm bio at www.mclane.com
