Binnie Media has announced the acquisition of 16 radio stations, including Concord's WJYY 105.5 FM, creating one of the largest privately held radio and television media companies in New England.
“We are No. 1 in radio in Concord, the Lakes Region and Nashua, New Hampshire, and also No. 1 in Portland, Maine,” said Bill Binnie, president of Binnie Media in a statement last week. “Our station lineup includes well-known brands like ‘Frank FM’ and ‘The Wolf’ along with heritage stations WJYY and WLNH.”
Binnie recently was the winning bidder of Concord's historic Walker Elementary School, agreeing . When the deal is complete, the company plans on building a television and radio studios at the school.
