Biologists Talk About the Wildlife and a Warming World

OK Concord, here are 5 Things you need to know for April 16, 2013.

  1. Another sunny day but … Expect partly sunny skies with highs in the mid-60s, and a light wind. Into the evening, expect clouds and a little rain here and there, with lows in the mid-40s.
  2. Network lunch. Women get a chance to connect at NetLunch at 11:30 a.m. at the Woman’s Club of Concord. Gather, learn, eat, and have fun. Tickets are $18.
  3. A healthy you by you. Capital Physical Therapy will hold a free essentials of core training session at 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear workout clothing.
  4. Is global warming harming wildlife? That’s what biologists will be discussing at 7 p.m. at the McLane Center, whether there is a connection between moose disappearing and skimpy shrimp catches.
  5. Other stuff. The Concord Public Library has a lapsit fun session for babies at 10:30 a.m. The Green Street Community Center has an open gym for adults at 11:45 a.m. St. Paul’s Church is offering a walk-in immunization clinic by the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association at 2:30 p.m. Paul Donahue plays Hermanos at 6:30 p.m. The Barley House has a traditional Irish session at 7 p.m. The Wings of Knowledge Series continues at 7 p.m. at NHTI with Alaa Dhahir, an Iraqi student who was overseas at the time that Saddam Hussein was overthrown. Uno’s has trivia time at 8 p.m. in the bar.
