Black Ice Pond Hockey Starts at White Park
Annual Concord event features slapshots, fireworks, bonfire, and a lot of fun.

If you’ve been by White Park in Concord this week, you know that the annual Black Ice Pond Hockey is about to get underway.
The tournaments start at 8 a.m. on Jan. 23, and run through 6 p.m. on Jan. 25.
During that time, public skating on White Park is closed (skating areas at Rollins Park and Beaver Meadow are still open to the public). The tent has been set up and White Street between Washington and just south of Blanchard is closed. Fireworks are slated for 7 p.m. on Friday. Other activities include a bonfire and vendors offering food and drink. Shuttle buses will be running during game times from the park to Downtown Concord restaurants.
