Blue Devils Varsity Wrestlers Beat Concord; Merrimack Falls By 1: New Hampshire Results

Tide JV beats Salem, 11-4; Merrimack loses in a squeaker; Londonderry beats Exeter; Souhegan wins; Memorial, Central, Bishop Guertin fall.

SALEM, NH — The Salem Blue Devils varsity wrestling team improved its record to 10-1 after beating the Concord Crimson Tide, 39 to 24, Wednesday night.

Salem was dominant throughout the first six matches, racking up 24 points in the 126 to 157 weight classes.

In the seventh match, Anthony Gualtieri of Concord, as he has done in the past, stopped the bleeding for Concord, winning a 12-11 decision over Kevin Todisco of Salem. Carl Sirrianna followed, besting Zander Wood by a fall. Salem won the next match, and then Concord followed, winning the next three matches, bringing Salem’s lead to 27-24.

Trevor O’Brien of Salem sealed the win for the Blue Devils with a fall over Dominick Hubbard. Salem then won the last match by forfeit due to a Concord wrestler missing weight by an ounce or two.

The Tide is now 8-1.

Concord JV wrestlers who won bouts were Damon Corbett, Jacoby Cruz, Joe Gardiner, Ryley Holt, Mohamed Ibrahim, Allen Martin, Don Mvuyekure, Nick Roberts, and Dominic Schinella. Logan Jenista won two JV matches.

Other NH Results

Merrimack fell to Hudson’s Alvirne on Wednesday, 36 to 35.

Chase Emond, Connor Sayball, Emily Angelo, Brandon Gendron, and Landon LeBlanc won by pins for the Tomahawks. Grant Descheneaux, Carter Anderson, and Brendan Curley won by decisions.

Londonderry varsity and JV beat Exeter on Thursday in Exeter, 45 to 36.

Patrick O’Connor, Haley Doyle, Caleb Holden, Manny Perez, Jaylynn Valentin, Conner Parsons, and Lucas DeLeon had pins for the Lancers. Caleb Sturtevant, Hudson Berry, Samuel St. Onge, William Hartford, Ajaya Acharya, Avery Niemi, Matthew Sturtevant, and Aengus Anderson for the Blue Hawks all won by falls.

Pinkerton Academy of Derry beat Manchester Memorial, 65 to 18.

Aiden Doyle, Matthew Gormady, Mason Beaudin, Lance Bordeleau, Anthony Sconza, Connor Combs, and Evan Landry won by pins. Camden Arbogast also had an 18-1 TF win. Memorial’s Patrick Vachon and Jayden Kulian also won by falls.

Pinkerton also swept Manchester Central, 78 to 0.

Souhegan beat Kingswood Regional, 39 to 9.

Chase Knuckle, Sam Albert, Alexander Gray, Allan Bobiak, Marcus Stout, and Andrew Healey won by fall. Darwin Brown-Waters for the Sabers won two matches by pin. Noah Denis also won by decision.

The Sabers also beat Prospect Mountain Regional, 6 to 0, with Isabelle Brandt winning by pin.

Spaulding beat Bishop Guertin, 36 to 34.

John Forcier, Nicholas Mackland-Rivera, and Bishop Kearns all won by fall, while Jack Kaler, James Alegeo, and Jack Foster won by decision.
