Body Found in Concord Walmart Parking Lot

There is limited information available about the investigation into a deceased person found on Feb. 20.

The Concord Police Department is investigating what may have happened to a person who was found deceased inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart on Loudon Road on Feb. 20, 2015.

Both police and fire officials confirmed that Concord Fire and Rescue teams and police officers were called to the parking lot around 9:15 a.m. At around 9:30 a.m., it was determined to be a police matter and rescue teams were cleared.

Lt. Cori Casey, a watch commander with the Concord Police Department, said that the investigation was in its early stages so there was limited information available to be released. He said that the state medical examiner’s office was in the process of determining the cause of death of the unidentified individual.

“We do not believe that the public is in any danger at this time,” Casey said, adding that the department would probably have more information available early next week.
