Body Found In Northwood Is That Of Woman Missing Since May

Breaking: Police are not releasing the cause or manner of the death of Delia Davenport and the investigation remains open.

NORTHWOOD, NH — A body found in nearby Northwood last week has been identified as a woman missing since early May, according to police. The body of Delia Davenport, 52, was found at just before 5 p.m. on June 2, 2017, along the Route 202 power lines, according to Northwood Police. An autopsy on Davenport was completed yesterday.

“The cause and manner of death of Mrs. Davenport has not been released and this will remain an open and active investigation,” Northwood Police noted on Facebook. “No further information will be released at this time.”

After the body was reportedly found, the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit along with the the New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office, the Strafford Police and Fire Departments, and the Northwood Fire Department, were all called to the scene to assist.

According to police, Davenport – who lived on Route 202 – had been missing since May 5, when she was last seen near her home. A silver alert was issued on May 11.
