Body Of A Man Found Under The Water Street Bridge In Concord

Concord police are investigating the death of a man found underneath the Water Street Bridge on Monday afternoon.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found under the Water Street Bridge on Monday afternoon.

Around 12:30 p.m., Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to the area of a former homeless camp after a caller reported to police there possibly was a body under the bridge. The caller was at the CVS on Hall Street and told dispatch they had not gone down into the area to check the report. They reported the body was supposedly a man.

Police arrived at CVS while EMTs went to CVS and the engine was parked off Gulf Street.

The man was confirmed code gray a few minutes later, according to scanner chatter.

Police spoke to a man who received the information from another man who was not at the scene, an officer said. A sergeant arrived at the scene and officers were seen using yellow tape to secure the scene.

The city of Concord spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to clear out the homeless camps underneath the Water Street Bridge. Police are regularly patrolling that area as well as nearby Healy Memorial Park off Exit 13.

The man was later identified as Blake Erickson.
